Leadership

R iverside's leadership consists of our pastor, Dr. Matt Taylor; Student Life Minister, Jen Smith; Leadership council (composed of lay ministry leaders), and the Board of Trustees who have oversight over church financial matters.

Pastor's Biography

Matt and Pam Taylor are originally from the Midwest (he from Michigan , she from Ohio ). Both were raised in Christian homes (Matt's father was a pastor). They met at Warner Southern College in Lake Wales, Florida while preparing for ministry.

Matt and Pam have ministered in Morely, Missouri, St. Louis, Missouri, and since December 2003 at Riverside First Church of God, in Fredericksburg, VA.

Matt has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from Warner Southern College in Lake Wales , FL (1989), a Master of Divinity from Anderson School of Theology in Anderson , IN (1996), and his doctorate through Covenant Seminary in St. Louis , MO. Pam has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Services from Warner Southern College, Lake Wales, FL 1989.

Matt and Pam have been married since June 1990 and have one daughter, Hannah. Matt enjoys sports, computers, and reading novels while Pam has fun shopping and Creative Memories scrapbooking. They both love eating out at Chinese restaurants.

Student Life Minister's Biography

Jen Smith was born in Michigan and has since lived in Minnesota, South Dakota, Indiana, Colorado, and Oregon before coming to reside in Virginia. She was raised in a Christian home (Jen's father was a pastor) and therefore has been involved in the church her entire life.

Jen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Bible/Religion from Anderson University in 2004. She then went on to earn her Masters of Divinity from Anderson University School of Theology in 2007.

Jen enjoys reading, the outdoors, traveling, and will try anything once.
