Why Pray?
- Asked of God
And so it is with prayer - keep on asking and you will keep on getting;
keep on looking and you will keep on finding; knock and the door will be opened.
Everyone who seek, find; and the door is opened to everyone who knocks. [Luke 11:9-10]
- Modeled by Jesus
Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? [Mark 12:17]
- Practiced by the disciples
But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. [Acts 6:4]
- Moves God
And the word of God increased; and the number of disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly;
and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. [Acts 6:7]
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and
seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land. [II Chronicles 7:14]
Our Goals and Activities
We have several activities that you can be a part of in the prayer ministry:
- Goal: Shield our Pastor - Join our prayer session for the leaders of the nation and Riverside.
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you and to
desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual
understanding. [Colossians 1:9]
- Goal:Empower the Church - Join our Sunday service or Faithweavers teachers prayer sessions.
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace,
whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. [Hebrews 12:28]
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye speak the same thing,
and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind
and in the same judgment. [1 Corinthians 1:10]
- Goal:Enrich private & corporate prayer life - Join our church body prayer chain.
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works;
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another:
and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. [Hebrews 10:24-25]
And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it;
or one member be honored, all members rejoice with it. [1 Corinthians 13:26]
