From time to time, even long-term and wonderful relationships can hit turbulence. It is tremendously important, at those times, to keep our eyes on Jesus and His mission. When we keep our eyes on Him, our attitude is peace and the turbulence cannot keep us from seeking peace as we together pursue His righteousness and the mission of Christ.
This week we will study Philippians as Paul addresses such turbulence between two women who once worked side by side and now are contending with each other. He calls upon the church, not to take sides, but to help these two women to restore their friendship and partnership.
Philippians 4:1 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends! 2 I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. 3 Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are in the book of life.
