Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Let’s be honest. If you were the only light Jesus had, would anyone be drawn to that light? Can you think of people in your life now who are enjoying Christ’s light through you?
We’re never called to be “our own light”. Christ is our light. Like an Olympic runner, we are to take that light to others. Do you think most Christians understand that responsibility or do you think most Christians worry mostly about their own light?
People in Florida after the hurricane are writing on my timeline. Those who have gotten their electricity back are inviting others to come and stay at their homes where there is cooking, air conditioning, internet, TV, and other great advantages. What advantages do you offer to other struggling Christians or lost people?
Are you grateful for the “light” that Jesus has given to you? Are you grateful enough to do what He says to do with it?
This message will stimulate your thinking in the area of being a light for Christ to share the light of Christ.
It’s amazing to think of God’s wonderful plan and realize that He has chosen us to be a major part of it. It would be easy to stand-in-amazement, but we please God when we stop standing and start shining. He said if He was lifted up, He would draw all men to Himself. Let it shine… let it shine…
