Make Your Mouth a Means of Grace

What is the most powerful part of your body? Some would say, “My legs” or “my arms”. Consider this possibility, “The most powerful part of your body is your mouth.” A mouth can move a mountain. It can change a heart. The Bible speaks of how that a tongue can set a fire that rages out of control. Something we say can plant a seed in someone else’s mind and heart, that we don’t even know we planted. We then walk away, leaving the seed-of-chaos or contention behind. It grows and we don’t know we planted it.

At the same time, this mouth of ours can plant a seed that grows to lead someone to salvation. So, we have the power of heaven or hell in our mouth. With our mouth, we can paint a picture in the mind of the listener that they may never be able to erase. What kind of seed are we planting?

Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

In this message we will discover that nothing that comes out of our mouth is “casual”. What we plant will grow.
