Jesus didn’t just save and train His disciples. He sent them out to share and spread the gospel. Sometimes they saw miracles and many results from their efforts and other times they must have been frustrated at the resistance and appearance of failure, yet they kept going and sharing. They didn’t do it perfectly, but they learned and the gospel went forward.
Luke 9:1 And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal.
On Sunday morning we will look at this scripture and others in that portion of scripture that show that Jesus never said it would be easy to share the gospel and win lost people to Christ. He even warned that many would reject them. Yet, He still sent them as His plan to share the gospel with the world. What a wonder that He would give us the responsibility, the privilege, the power, and the authority to represent Him to a lost world.
