This Sunday’s message “Two by Two: Part II”:
Luke 10:1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. 2 And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. 3 Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. 4 Carry no moneybag, no knapsack, no sandals, and greet no one on the road.
Do you underestimate the power of influence that God has given you? In this week’s scripture, Jesus sends 72 disciples out to share with others. As I look at this, we can’t believe that these were all talented and attractive speakers. Yet, Jesus sends them out to share their experience with Him. This is the same Jesus who said that if He was lifted up, He would draw all men to Him.
Even after this promise, though, he had a shortage of people who would go out and share. Even though this is the responsibility of every Christian, many or most of us are reluctant to go out and share.
In this message, we will discuss whether this is a special mission that occasionally we go out, or if witnessing for Christ is a lifestyle.
